I use Linux mint codename Rebecca, ffmpeg was not already installed on my distribution, when I tried to install it by 'apt-get install ffmpeg' turned out there was no ffmpeg (only the keyword in other programms), I added a repository where it was included and could install it, but after 'ldd /usr/bin/ffmpeg' i discovered ffmpeg was missing some.
